Your application will allow users to discover books, videos, music, electronic content and more through WorldCat.

How the API works

Using the WorldCat Search API

Documentation for the API is available through the WorldCat Developers Network.

Free access to qualifying institutions

Use of the WorldCat Search API is presently limited to employees of qualifying institutions that both contributes their library holdings to WorldCat and participates in the WorldCat.org program. The different types of cataloging contributions may be OCLC member libraries that maintain a cataloging subscription, libraries that are cataloguing in the Dutch GGC (Gemeenschappelijk Catalogiseersysteem), and libraries that are cataloguing in the CBS systems of CBS partner organisations if these organisations have a partnership agreement with OCLC.
