Gehlek Rimpoche, Allen Ginsberg, and Anne Waldman present a three-part lecture on the Tibetan poetic tradition. Waldman discusses the doha form and reads a poem she composed for Trungpa Rinpoche. Ginsberg speaks about poetry as writing one's mind, or "catching yourself thinking," offering examples of particular mind-moment awarenesses from his own work. Gehlek Rimpoche describes the untying of the knots in one's throat chakra as a means of freeing one's poetic speech, and dicusses the Tibetan poetic tradition. The three lectures are followed by a question and answer period in which the respective roles of memorization and form in Tibetan poetry are discussed, and Ginsberg reads a devotional poem he wrote for Trungpa Rinpoche
