Ordinary British stockbroker Nicholas Winton organized the rescue of 669 children from Prague just before the outbreak of World War II. As a result of his heroic efforts, today there are over 6,000 descendants of 'Winton's Children" all over the world. Winton, now 104 years old, did not speak about these events with anyone for more than half a century. His exploits would have probably been forgotten if his wife, fifty years later, hadn't found a suitcase in the attic, full of documents and transport plans. The children that he saved, their descendants and countless others around the world continue to follow his example to do good, as chronicled in this award-winning film

"In the fall of 1938, Nicholas Winton took a pleasure trip to Prague, Czechoslovakia. He saw that Czech children in the Sudetenland were stateless. He understood that these refugee children would soon be doomed by Hitler. Although Winton was only 28 years old, he knew he had to take action. He devised a rescue operation to save these children. This inspiring documentary tells how an ordinary man took extraordinary action."--Container

Between April and August 1939 in the run-up to World War II, Nicholas Winton transported 669 Jewish children from Nazi-occupied Prague to London on specially chartered trains, and found British families to take on every child. Featuring archive footage alongside testimony from Winton and many of the people he saved, the film gives credit to the man who took action at a time when the rest of Britain seemed to be turning a blind eye to the plight of the Jews
