Love and math : the heart of hidden reality by Edward Frenkel( Book )
9 editions published in 2013 in English and held by 25 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Growing up in Russia, mathematician Edward Frenkel was denied entrance to university to study mathematics because he was Jewish. Yet with the help of his mentors he circumvented the system to become one of the twenty-first century's leading mathematicians. Frenkel now works on one of the biggest ideas to come out of mathematics in the last 50 years: the Langlands Program, considered by many to be a Grand Unified Theory of Mathematics. Love and Math tells the two intertwined stories of amazing mathematics and the adventure of one young man in learning it. At its core it is a story a
Central extensions of reductive groups by K₂ by J.-L Brylinski( Book )

Integrable systems and quantum groups : lectures given at the 1st session of the Centro internazionale matematico estivo (C.I.M.E.) held in Montecatini Terme, Italy, June 14-22, 1993 by Ron Donagi( Book )
2 editions published in 1996 in English and held by 6 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
The aim of this CIME Session was to review the state of the art in the recent development of the theory of integrable systems and their relations with quantum groups. The purpose was to gather geometers and mathematical physicists to allow a broader and more complete view of these attractive and rapidly developing fields. The papers contained in this volume have at the same time the character of survey articles and of research papers, since they contain both a survey of current problems and a number of original contributions to the subject

Affine Kac-Moody algebras at the critical level and Gelfand- Dikii algebras by Boris L Feigin( Book )
3 editions published in 1991 in English and held by 4 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Abstract: "We prove Drinfeld's conjecture that the center of a certain completion of the universal enveloping algebra of an affine Kac- Moody algebra at the critical level is isomorphic to the Gelfand-Dikii algebra, associated to the Langlands dual algebra. The center is identified with a limit of the W-algebra, defined by means of the quantum Drinfeld-Sokolov reduction."
Quantum W-algebras and elliptic algebras by Boris L Feigin( Book )
1 edition published in 1995 in English and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Abstract: "We define a quantum W-algebra associated to sl[subscript N] as an associative algebra depending on two parameters. For special values of the parameters it becomes the ordinary W-algebra of sl[subscript N], or the q-deformed classical W-algebra of sl[subscript N]. We construct free field realizations of the quantum W-algebras and the screening currents. We also point out some interesting elliptic structures arising in these algebras. In particular, we show that the screening currents satisfy elliptic analogues of the Drinfeld relations in U[subscript q](n̂)."

Rites of love and math is there a mathematical formula of love without death? ( Visual )
1 edition published in 2010 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Mathematics is first and foremost pursuit of absolute truth and beauty. This is the story of a mathematician who has found, after many years of hard work, the ultimate formula of love. At first, he was thrilled that his formula would benefit people, bringing them eternal love, youth and happiness. But later he discovers the flip side of the formula. It could be used in the wrong way, a weapon against humanity. And so forces of evil are now after the mathematician. They want to take possession of the magic powers of his formula and use them in order to achieve their sinister goals. The mathematician knows that there is no escape for him, and he is ready to die. But he has to protect his formula. The mathematician has a secret love affair with a beautiful Japanese woman, Mariko. They decide that he will tattoo the magic formula on her body
Characters and fusion rules for W-algebras via quantized Drinfeld-Sokolov reductions by Edward Frenkel( Book )
1 edition published in 1992 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Abstract: "Using the cohomological approach to W-algebras, we calculate characters and fusion coefficients for their representations obtained from modular invariant representations of affine algebras by the quantized Drinfeld-Sokolov reduction."

Free field resolutions in affine Toda field theories by Boris L Feigin( Book )
1 edition published in 1991 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide
Abstract: "We construct free field resolutions for the local integrals of motion in the quantum affine Toda field theory. They are closely related to the BGG type resolution of the trivial representation of the corresponding affine quantum group. We prove the existence of infinite number of mutually commuting integrals of motion, whose spins are equal to the exponents of the corresponding affine Kac-Moody algebra modulo the Coxeter number."
