Digital humanities in biblical, early Jewish and early Christian studies by Claire Clivaz( )

8 editions published between 2013 and 2014 in English and held by 940 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Ancient texts, once written by hand on parchment and papyrus, are now increasingly discoverable online in newly digitized editions, and their readers now work online as well as in traditional libraries. So what does this mean for how scholars may now engage with these texts, and for how the disciplines of biblical, Jewish and Christian studies might develop? These are the questions that contributors to this volume address. Subjects discussed include textual criticism, palaeography, philology, the nature of ancient monotheism, and how new tools and resources such as blogs, wikis, databases and digital publications may transform the ways in which contemporary scholars engage with historical sources."_Contracub

14 editions published in 2013 in French and English and held by 259 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

- The first expressions of Jewish messianism are explained by rhetorical models in Ancient Near East and by changes of royal ideologies in Israel. Rather than merging in one messianic figure around CE as presented in modern scholarship, the messiani

L'Écrit de Damas : le manifeste essénien by David Hamidovič( Book )

7 editions published in 2011 in French and Hebrew and held by 61 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

8 editions published between 2003 and 2007 in French and held by 52 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The jubilee like chronological unit and as law is known well in the biblical studies. The rabbinical Jewish circles will only discuss the efficient application or no of jubilee's law in Leviticus 25. In the scrolls discovered near the ruin of Qumran, a lot of documents attest an original use of jubilee. The popularity of the chronological unit and the jubilee's law must be understood as the wish of a return of state first of the land. Exiles to Qumran wanted to renew the Alliance, to return to the idealized instant of the Creation and also to come back in an promised land without blots and profanities of their time, the turning point of our era. Another writing in Ethiopian, the Book of Jubilees, is known to Qumran by the more ancient copies preserved in Hebrew, original language of the document. Other manuscripts qualified of "Pseudo-jubilees" use the Book of Jubilees like the main source but without being copies. For the first time, we associate five manuscripts according to this definition and we advance the hypothesis of a commentary, a thematic pesher of the Book of Jubilees preserved in five different copies (4Q217, 4Q225-4Q228) of one same work in Hebrew. The paleographic study of these five manuscripts, more a document coming of the fortress of Masada, was the opportunity to draw the fragments with a new method. Best preserved extracts describe the moment of Isaac's sacrifice, important moment in the doctrinal construction of the three religions of the Book and some biographic elements of the Enoch character. The evolution of this tradition on the aqedah, the sacrifice of Isaac, since old Testament writings until targumic and rabbinical literatures, permits to understand better Qumran version and also the literary posterity of this version in the Jewish circles in intense mutation and in the primitive Christian circle

4 editions published in 2017 in French and held by 24 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

1 edition published in 2014 in German and held by 23 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
