Pelosi describes the House of Representative's disagreement with the Bush Administration bailout bill, calling it "unacceptable." Pelosi goes on to detail the bill's preliminaries, including the enormous amount of requested money and the "unparalleled, unheard of" powers to the Secretary of the Treasury without any judicial review. The Speaker talks about working in a bipartisan way with the Bush Administration to "insulate the American people and Main Street from the crisis on Wall Street." Pelosi says to Wall Street, "The party is over. The era for golden parachutes to high flying Wall Street operators is over. No longer will the US taxpayer bailout the recklessness of Wall Street."
