Pierre Jodlowski : portrait( Visual )

1 edition published in 2007 in French and held by 21 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The French composer Pierre Jodlowski, an uncompromising figure of contemporary music. The most striking traits of Pierre Jodlowski's personnality are his strengh and charisma. Figurehead of the young generation of contemporary music composers, Pierre Jodlowski has built a personal musical world exploring the new opportunities offered by computer technologies. Trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon (France) and at the IRCAM (Paris, France), Pierre Jodlowski was taught by composers such as Philippe Manoury or Pierre Henry, composers open to new modes of expression and to musical novelty. Pierre Jodlowski's aesthetic calls upon an "active" implication of the audience, both physically and psychologically, by means of a music evolving from movements, memory, space and reminiscences. The founder of the Novelum Festival (Toulouse, France) and of the Eole Collective, Pierre Jodlowski is a genuinely engaged artist who puts together different art forms to engage the audience into a reflection on society and its need for creativity
