These papers document the work of Elinor Miller Greenberg from 1970 to the present. Particular emphasis is on her work from 1971-1990s in which she developed programs for adult education. Her work addressed the educational needs of diverse non-traditional adult learners brought into the workforce as a result of the Civil Rights Movement, the Women's Movement, and returning Vietnam Veterans. She expanded access to a post-secondary degree through her methods based on experiential learning. Much of her work promoted effective learning styles based on the work of William J. Perry, whose scheme Greenberg adapted for use in adult program design and evaluation. She worked on leadership education for the volunteer boardroom, for educators, and for the non-profit sector. She helped develop the technology for better access to state services and also promoted interactive distance learning through online classrooms, such as the first weekend college for nurses in Colorado to earn a BSN.
