Album of photographs taken by Professor and Mrs. S.A. Hill of scenery and views around India in 1888. Descriptive captions, including some comments by Rudyard Kipling. This album was one of two prepared by Mrs. S.A. Hill originally offered as prizes for a raffle for Trinity Church in Allahabad in February 1888. This copy was kept by Mrs. Hill, the other was won by a Colonel Lang of Allahabad in the raffle. This copy includes original draft of Kipling's poem "A ballade of photographs" and "Verses on the Charleville Hotel, Mussoorie."
