Prince Michael and prince Wenzel are both in love with the singer Eva. The banker Ravel, who is hoping to take control of the oil wells in the principality, wants to ensure that Wenzel takes power. When Wenzel returns to the principality he immediately takes over control of the government and closes the borders. Since Eva's theater troupe is supposed to perform at the coronation, she manages to smuggle Prince Michael undetected across the border. However, he is soon caught in Eva's room by the jealous Wenzel, and arrested. This musical comedy features a remarkable performance by the tenor Max Hansen where he performs in drag and imitates his costar, the soprano Gitta Alpár
