"The Door" er den norske jazztrompetisten Mathias Eicks solodebut. Eick er en allsidig og mye brukt musiker med vind i seilene for tida. I fjor ble han tildelt International Jazz Award for New Talent. I over ti år har han vært medlem og en av drivkreftene i gruppa Jaga Jazzizt, som har spilt på festivaler over hele Europa og fått en solid tilhengerskare. I tillegg har han spilt med et bredt spekter av musikere som spenner fra Chick Corea, Manu Katché og Trondheim Jazzorkester til Motorpsycho, Turboneger og Thomas Dybdahl i tillegg til mange flere. På "The Door" synger hans melodiske og allsidige trompetspill (i tillegg til gitar og vibrafon) over et heftig og drivende komp bestående av Jon Balke, Audun Erlien, Audun Kleive og Stian Carstensen
