Prix France-Qub̌ec 1981
En pièces détachées : a play by Michel Tremblay( Book )

59 editions published between 1970 and 2013 in 3 languages and held by 536 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

43 editions published between 1984 and 2016 in French and English and held by 436 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

[SDM]
The first quarter of the moon by Michel Tremblay( Book )

37 editions published between 1989 and 2015 in 3 languages and held by 433 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

It is also the day of final exams at the Ecole Saint-Stanislas where the fat woman's son, a boy who lives inside the books he loves, is in the "gifted" class, and his cousin Marcel, the "mad" family terror, is in the class for "slow learners." Racked by envy at what he sees as Marcel's genius - his ability to create and function in another dimension of reality - the gifted child blanks out during the French exam. The first quarter of the moon - which rises over the final scenes of the novel in which the fat woman's son recognizes and acknowledges his cousin Marcel's genius - is an exquisitely crafted and resonant metaphor for the symbiotic relation between the imaginary and the real, the privileged "educated elite" and the "great unwashed," innocence and experience, sanity and madness

36 editions published between 1982 and 2002 in French and English and held by 426 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The red notebook by Michel Tremblay( Book )

17 editions published between 2004 and 2017 in 3 languages and held by 355 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"The year is 1967 - Expo - and everyone else in Montreal is waiting for the great day when they can visit the exotic foreign pavilions. For the characters of The Red Notebook, the second in Tremblay's Notebook trilogy, life in Montreal has shaken off its conservative glumness as a new age arrives. Change is everywhere in the air: politically the Quebec independence movement has been given a major boost by Charles de Gaulle's famous "Vive le Quebec libre!" declaration; and things will never be the same. Celine Poulin, former waitress at the bohemian hangout "Le Select," is now about to start a new job: that of hostess in a bordello just opened by Montreal's famous Madame, Fine Dumas. Its specialty? All the "girls" in "Le Boudoir" are transvestites. Some are old pals of Celine's who'll also be her room-mates after she finally escapes the stifling unhappiness of her family home and moves into their communal boarding house." "Having always maintained that he does not write politics, but fables, Tremblay celebrates how it is possible for Celine to embrace her difference and to flourish in solidarity with a community of others with transcendent eloquence and compassion."--Couv
Remember me : a play by Michel Tremblay( Book )

31 editions published between 1981 and 1989 in French and English and held by 349 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The city in the egg by Michel Tremblay( Book )

34 editions published between 1969 and 2007 in 3 languages and held by 334 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The driving force by Michel Tremblay( Book )

10 editions published between 2003 and 2013 in English and French and held by 324 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"With a cruel and disconsolate irony, we come to see that his father's lifelong attempt to mock and censure Claude's work as consisting of nothing but mediocre, misrepresentative lies has been the very driving force behind Claude's compulsion to continue to reveal the "truth" of human relationships as he so desperately wants his father to understand it."--Jacket
The black notebook by Michel Tremblay( Book )

17 editions published between 2003 and 2016 in French and English and held by 320 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"In the heart of the Latin Quarter, meeting place of marginal characters of all sorts, Celine Poulin works the night shift at a cheap and popular restaurant, the Select, serving hamburger platters and spaghetti and meatballs to student misfits, transvestites, hookers, and queens from the Main - Montreal's colourful Saint-Laurent Boulevard. Hanging out with a theatre company in her off hours, Celine sees opening before her a world where it is not only possible, but even desirable to pretend. When the director offers her a role in The Trojan Women, the die is cast." "The Black Notebook is Celine's diary, her account of her trials and tribulations, her expectations and her cruel disappointments, because this young waitress at the Select has her own dramatic story to tell, even if only to herself: Celine is a midget."--BOOK JACKET
Damnée Manon, sacrée Sandra : suivi de Surprise! Surprise! by Michel Tremblay( Book )

28 editions published between 1977 and 1991 in 3 languages and held by 319 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Un objet de beauté : roman by Michel Tremblay( Book )

21 editions published between 1997 and 2016 in French and English and held by 300 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

[SDM]
