57 editions published between 1988 and 2004 in English and Undetermined and held by 542 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Studies in Logic and the Foundations of Mathematics, Volume 123: Constructivism in Mathematics: An Introduction, Vol. II focuses on various studies in mathematics and logic, including metric spaces, polynomial rings, and Heyting algebras. The publication first takes a look at the topology of metric spaces, algebra, and finitetype arithmetic and theories of operators. Discussions focus on intuitionistic finitetype arithmetic, theories of operators and classes, rings and modules, linear algebra, polynomial rings, fields and local rings, complete separable metric spaces, and located sets. Basic proof theory by
A. S Troelstra(
Book
)
24 editions published between 1996 and 2003 in English and held by 498 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
"This introduction to the basic ideas of structural proof theory contains a through discussion and comparison of various types of formalization of firstorder logic. Examples are given of several areas of application, namely the metamathematics of pure firstorder logic (intuitionistic as well as classical); the theory of logic programming; category theory; modal logic; linear logic; firstorder arithmetic and secondorder logic." "In each case the aim is to illustrate the methods in relatively simple situations and then apply them elsewhere in much more complex settings. There are numerous exercises throughout the text." "In general, the only prerequisite is a standard course in firstorder logic, making the book ideal for graduate students and beginning researchers in mathematical logic, theoretical computer science and artificial intelligence."Jacket

OmegaBibliography of mathematical logic by
G. H Müller(
Book
)
14 editions published in 1987 in English and held by 29 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Gert H. Müller The growth of the number of publications in almost all scientific areas, as in the area of (mathematical) logic, is taken as a sign of our scientifically minded culture, but it also has a terrifying aspect. In addition, given the rapidly growing sophistica tion, specialization and hence subdivision of logic, researchers, students and teachers may have a hard time getting an overview of the existing literature, partic ularly if they do not have an extensive library available in their neighbourhood: they simply do not even know what to ask for! More specifically, if someone vaguely knows that something vaguely connected with his interests exists some where in the literature, he may not be able to find it even by searching through the publications scattered in the review journals. Answering this challenge was and is the central motivation for compiling this Bibliography. The Bibliography comprises (presently) the following six volumes (listed with the corresponding Editors): I. Classical Logic W. Rautenberg 11. Nonclassical Logics W. Rautenberg 111. Model Theory H.D. Ebbinghaus IV. Recursion Theory P.G. Hinman V. Set Theory A.R. Blass VI. ProofTheory; Constructive Mathematics J.E. Kister; D. van Dalen & A.S. Troelstra

Handbook of mathematical logic by
Jon Barwise(
Book
)
1 edition published in 1977 in English and held by 9 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
The handbook is divided into four parts: model theory, set theory, recursion theory and proof theory. Each of the four parts begins with a short guide to the chapters that follow. Each chapter is written for nonspecialists in the field in question. Mathematicians will find that this book provides them with a unique opportunity to apprise themselves of developments in areas other than their own
