Random variables and probability distributions by
Harald Cramér(
Book
)
82 editions published between 1937 and 2004 in 3 languages and held by 1,169 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
This tract develops the purely mathematical side of the theory of probability, without reference to any applications. When originally published, it was one of the earliest works in the field built on the axiomatic foundations introduced by A. Kolmogoroff in his book Grundbegriffe der Wahrscheinlichkeitsrechnung, thus treating the subject as a branch of the theory of completely additive set functions. The author restricts himself to a consideration of probability distributions in spaces of a finite number of dimensions, and to problems connected with the Central Limit Theorem and some of its generalizations and modifications. In this edition the chapter on Liapounoff's theorem has been partly rewritten, and now includes a proof of the important inequality due to Berry and Esseen. The terminology has been modernized, and several minor changes have been made

Structural and statistical problems for a class of stochastic processes by
Harald Cramér(
)
24 editions published between 1971 and 2017 in English and held by 889 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Professor Cramer, author of the pivotal Mathematical Methods of Statistics (1946), examines problems in the theory of stochastic processes that can be considered as generalizations of problems in the classical theory of statistical inference. He discusses first the representation formula and then treats its application to the multiplicity problem, classes of processes with multiplicity N= 1, normal or Gaussian processes. He concludes with a discussion of problems of estimation for a normal process. A distinguished mathematician, Harald Cramer has been President of the University of Stockholm and Chancellor of the Swedish Universities. He is a member of many professional societies, including the Royal Swedish Academy of Science and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.Originally published in 1971.The Princeton Legacy Library uses the latest printondemand technology to again make available previously outofprint books from the distinguished backlist of Princeton University Press. These editions preserve the original texts of these important books while presenting them in durable paperback and hardcover editions. The goal of the Princeton Legacy Library is to vastly increase access to the rich scholarly heritage found in the thousands of books published by Princeton University Press since its founding in 1905

Stationary and related stochastic processes; sample function properties and their applications by
Harald Cramér(
Book
)
32 editions published between 1966 and 2013 in English and Undetermined and held by 656 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
This graduatelevel text offers a comprehensive account of the general theory of stationary processes, with special emphasis on the properties of sample functions. Assuming a familiarity with the basic features of modern probability theory, the text develops the foundations of the general theory of stochastic processes, examines processes with a continuoustime parameter, and applies the general theory to procedures key to the study of stationary processes. Additional topics include analytic properties of the sample functions and the problem of time distribution of the intersections between a sample function. 1967 edition

Mathematical Methods of Statistics (PMS9) by
Harald Cramér(
)
1 edition published in 2016 in English and held by 19 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
In this classic of statistical mathematical theory, Harald Cramér joins the two major lines of development in the field: while British and American statisticians were developing the science of statistical inference, French and Russian probabilitists transformed the classical calculus of probability into a rigorous and pure mathematical theory. The result of Cramér's work is a masterly exposition of the mathematical methods of modern statistics that set the standard that others have since sought to follow. For anyone with a working knowledge of undergraduate mathematics the book is self contained. The first part is an introduction to the fundamental concept of a distribution and of integration with respect to a distribution. The second part contains the general theory of random variables and probability distributions while the third is devoted to the theory of sampling, statistical estimation, and tests of significance
