Luis de Granada (1504-1588). España. Fray Luis de Granada ingresó en la orden dominica a los veinte años. Y pronto adoptó el nombre de su ciudad natal y allí estuvo durante varios años en el convento de Santa Cruz. También fue prior del convento de Scala-Coeli en la serranía de Córdoba. Hacia 1547 escribió su Guía de pecadores, en la que fray Luis recoge un tratado escrito por Savonarola, y una antología de fragmentos del Nuevo Testamento, que comprende el Sermón del Monte, tres capítulos del evangelio de Juan y una paráfrasis de las cartas de Pablo. Sus últimos años fueron duros, marcados por el escándalo del suceso de la monja de Portugal, en el que defendió a una monja iluminada, que después se descubrió que había mentido. Murió a los ochenta y cuatro años en Portugal
