Survey of Campus Incidents as Interpreted by College Presidents, Faculty Chairmen and Student Body Presidents, 1970 by Urban Institute. President's Commission on Campus Unrest ( )
in Undetermined and held by 11 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
The data were collected following the invasion of Cambodia in May 1970, by questionnaires mailed to presidents, faculty chairmen, and student body presidents of all colleges and universities in the United States. Except for coding to preserve anonymity, the data include information on the school such as location, size, sex of students, presence of ROTC on campus, academic emphasis, acceptance standards, and dollars expended per student. The respondents were queried about the types of incidents which occurred on their campuses. These included incidents in which the National Guard was called, off-campus police used, one or more protestors arrested, temporary restraining orders or injunctions obtained, teach-ins, rallies, or discussion groups took the place of regular academic activities, and where Black demands or racism were issues. Other incidents examined were those involving destructiveness by students that took place off campus and incidents involving serious damage to or the destruction of property, personal injury, or death. The seriousness of the incidents was also reported as well as the response of the faculty, administration, and outside government units. The respondents were asked what plans were prepared before May of 1970 to handle unrest, and the degree to which these were implemented, as well as their proposals to curb or limit future outbreaks

in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide
The Scranton papers include correspondence, reports, tape recordings, and typescripts of speeches, press releases, drafts and final copies of publications, photographs, movie film, newspaper clippings, and scrapbooks. Most of these materials concern Scranton's duties as an officeholder, public servant, and national political advisor during the 1960s and 1970s. The major groups of documents for this part of Scranton's career are files from his congressional and gubernatorial offices, correspondence on his campaign to win the Republican Party presidential nomination in 1964, and correspondence, position papers, reports, photographs, and meeting agenda and minutes from numerous governmental panels and task forces, including the U.S. Price Commission (1971-74), President's Commission on Campus Unrest (1970-71), the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education (1969-74), U.S. Railway Association (1974-76), ConRail (1974-76). There are also correspondence, memos, and telegrams covering Scranton's diplomatic assignments in Europe and the MidEast (1968) as a special envoy and at the United Nations as U.S. Ambassador (1967-77). There are additional large groups of papers concerning Scranton's business interests and his activities on behalf of Yale University. Smaller groups of papers touch on Scranton's involvement with civic and non-profit organizations, including colleges and universities, hospitals, environmental groups, and lobbying organizations
