Neben den allseits bekannten und beliebten Klassikern wie Rapunzel, Schneewittchen, Aschenputtel, Hänsel und Gretel oder Das Rotkäppchen finden sich hier auch unbekanntere und teilweise zusätzlich in Original-Mundart vorliegende Märchen wie Das Dietmarsische Lügenmärchen, Der Bärenhäuter oder Prinzessin Mäusehaut. Alle Märchen in Original-Mundart liegen auch in Hochdeutsch vor. Die bekanntesten Märchen sind mit 47 wunderschönen Märchen-Bildern versehen. Die in Kassel aufbewahrten Handexemplare der Brüder Grimm mit wertvollen handschriftlichen Einträgen wurden 2005 von der UNESCO zum Weltdokumentenerbe erklärt.
