Ein sehr breites Spektrum deckt die Einspielung mit Klaviersonaten von Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart mit dem in Moskau geborenen und in Hamburg lehrenden Pianisten Evgeni Koroliov ab. Sowohl von der Entstehungszeit als auch vom Schwierigkeitsgrad her liegen die ausgewählten Werke weit auseinander. Die facettenreiche Sonate KV 281 stammt aus den Jahren 1774/75, die c-Moll-Sonate KV 310, eine der wenigen Moll-Sonaten überhaupt, aus dem Jahr 1778, während die aus 2 Teilen von Mozart zusammengefügte Sonate KV 533/494 erst 10 Jahre später entstand. Die Sonate KV 545 ist ein Meilenstein aller Klavierpädagogik seit Mozarts Zeit. Bei ihr ist die relative manuelle Leichtigkeit nicht mit geistiger Anspruchslosigkeit gleichzusetzen. - Koroliov strebt in seiner Interpretation nicht nach Gefälligkeit um jeden Preis und bietet schon allein durch die Auswahl der Stücke einen guten Überblick über Mozarts Klaviersonaten
