Die Schöpfung = The creation by Joseph Haydn( )

16 editions published between 1982 and 2012 in German and Undetermined and held by 326 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"This marvellous recording, sung in German, comes as a surprise, since Bernard Haitink is not obviously associated with Haydn. In fact he didn't tackle The Creation until 2011, when he was 82. He approaches this great choral masterpiece with wit, unhurried grandeur, riveting orchestral detail and forward momentum - in short, with just the acuity he brings to anything he conducts. (....) Gabriel (soprano Camilla Tilling), Uriel (tenor Mark Padmore), and Raphael (bass Hanno Müller-Brachmann). Choir, orchestra and soloists are on sparkling form in this live recording - an invigorating reminder, if any were needed, of Haydn's genius" (The Guardian)
Johannes-Passion = St. John Passion : BWV 245 by Johann Sebastian Bach( )

12 editions published between 1988 and 2012 in 3 languages and held by 289 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"The foundations of Marc Minkowski's career lie in Baroque music, and he has enjoyed a long relationship with Warner Classics, but this Johannes-Passion (St John Passion) is his first Bach for the label. The work's terse drama--here presented through just nine singers--is ideally suited to both his scrupulous musicianship and his keen sense of theatre. The French conductor describes Bach's great masterpieces as 'a journey you have to prepare for meticulously, over a long period of time. You come back from it like an explorer comes back from Everest or the moon--transformed'"--Warnerclassics.com
Motetten by Johann Sebastian Bach( )

6 editions published between 1992 and 2008 in German and held by 279 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Brandenburg concertos = Brandenburgische Konzerte = Concertos Brandebourgeois by Johann Sebastian Bach( )

9 editions published between 1995 and 2010 in No Linguistic content and Undetermined and held by 271 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Il Giardino Armonico's sheer sparkle gives it the edge."--New York Times

Requiem by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart( )

8 editions published between 1986 and 1997 in 3 languages and held by 265 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

ATMA Classique is reissuing one of Les Violons du Roy's seminal discs: the orchestra's recording of Mozart's Requiem as revised and completed by Robert D. Levin. The soloists are Karina Gauvin, Marie-Nicole Lemieux, John Tessier, and Nathan Berg. Bernard Labadie conducts Les Violons du Roy and the choir of La Chapelle de Québec. This recording was originally released on the Dorian label in 2002, and won the JUNO Award for Best Classical Album of the year in the vocal or choral performance category. This recording of Mozart's Requiem is especially poignant, as it was made in Troy, NewYork in the week following the September 11 attacks in 2001.The recording captures the emotion and immediacy of that special performance, which was later featured on CBC Television's Opening Night. The Globe & Mail wrote about "an appreciation of the transcendent aspects of the Requiem as a work of art that is about death, survival and the possibility of an afterlife. There is the magnificence of the music, so often used to solemnly mark terrible tragedy and bring solace."

Membra Jesu nostri by Dietrich Buxtehude( )

9 editions published between 2011 and 2012 in 4 languages and held by 256 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

2 editions published in 2008 in French and held by 252 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

La Caravane du Caire is one of the rare works that Grétry composed for the Académie Royale that respected the conventions of the institution. Full of verve and color, this opera was one of the greatest successes of his career. A few exotic touches and the presence of a ballet also contributed to the score's success
