The complete Jean Vigo( Visual )

1 edition published in 2011 in French and held by 34 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Even among cinema's greatest legends, Jean Vigo stands alone. The son of a notorious anarchist, Vigo had a brief but brilliant career making poetic, lightly surrealist films before his life was cut tragically short by tuberculosis at age twenty-nine. Like the daring early works of his contemporaries Jean Cocteau and Luis Bunũel, Vigo's films refused to play by the rules. This set includes all of Vigo's titles

4 editions published in 1999 in French and held by 22 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

L'intégrale de Jean Vigo by Jean Vigo( Visual )

1 edition published in 2007 in French and held by 22 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Jean Vigo made only four films. A Propos de Nice (1929) is a silent satire of the bourgeoisie influenced by Dzigo Vertov's Man with a Movie Camera. Taris (1931) is the documentary study of a swimmer, an assignment which Vigo handled with little respect for convention. The anarchic, influential Zero de Conduite (1933) is a vivid, unsentimental view of childhood. His only feature, L'Atalante (1934), is a tender, dreamlike love story played against the harshness of working class life on the Seine
