Science, Měřín, Czech Republic, January 2430, 2004 : proceedings by
P. van Emde Boas(
Book
)
27 editions published between 2004 and 2005 in English and held by 164 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
The 30th Anniversary Conference on Current Trends in Theory and Practice of Computer Science, SOFSEM 2004, took place during January 24–30, 2004, ´ in the Hotel VZ M? e? rin, located about 60 km south of Prague on the right shore of Slapsk´ap? rehrada (“Slapy Dam”) in the Czech Republic. Having transformed itself over the years from a local event to a fully internat nal conference, the contemporary SOFSEM tries to keep the best of its winter school aspects (the high number of invited talks) together with multidiscip narity trends in computer science – this year illustrated by the selection of the following 4 tracks: – Computer Science Theory (Track Chair: Peter Van Emde Boas) – Database Technologies (Track Chair: Jaroslav Pokorny) ´ – Cognitive Technologies (Track Chair: Peter Sin? c´ ak) ? – Web Technologies (Track Chair: Julius ´ Stuller) Its aim was, as always, to promote cooperation among professionals from a demia and industry working in various areas of computer science

Associative storage modification machines by
John Tromp(
Book
)
9 editions published between 1989 and 1990 in English and held by 12 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Abstract: "We present a parallel version of the storage modification machine. This model, called the Associative Storage Modification Machine (ASMM), has the property that it can recognize in polynomial time exactly what Turing machines can recognize in polynomial space. The model therefore belongs to the Second Machine Class, consisting of those parallel machine models that satisfy the parallel computation thesis. The Associative Storage Modification Machine obtains its computational power from following pointers in the reverse direction."

Krzysztof R Apt(

5 editions published in 1994 in English and held by 9 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Abstract: " A finite set of term equations E is called subject to the occurcheck (STO) if a sequence of actions of the MartelliMontanari unification algorithm starts with E and ends with a failure due to occur check. We prove here that the problem of deciding whether E is STO is NP hard."
