A multiprocessor emulation facility by Aravinda( Book )
3 editions published between 1983 and 1985 in English and Undetermined and held by 12 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Interest in multiprocessor computer architectures has increased dramatically in the last ten years. However, it has become clear that in order to effectively use multiprocessors in a general way, some fundamental changes in the model of computation are necessary. Moreover, experimentation in the field is hindered by low-performance simulation tools and high-cost hardware modeling schemes. We present our approach to solving both of these problems: DATAFLOW ARCHITECTURE, which provides an inherently parallel model of computation, and a MULTIPROCESSOR EMULATION FACILITY, which is a general purpose tool for evaluating multiprocessors architectures at low cost. We also discuss our scheme for using the Emulation Facility to validate our claims about dataflow architecture. (Author)

Weaving the Web : the original design and ultimate destiny of the World Wide Web by its inventor by Tim Berners-Lee( Book )
2 editions published in 2008 in English and held by 3 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
"Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web, has been hailed by Time magazine as one of the 100 greatest minds of this century. His creation has already changed the way people do business, entertain themselves, exchange ideas, and socialize with one another." "Berners-Lee offers insights to help readers understand the true nature of the Web, enabling them to use it to their fullest advantage. He shares his views on such critical issues as censorship, privacy, the increasing power of software companies in the online world, and the need to find the ideal balance between the commercial and social forces on the Web. His criticism of the Web's current state makes clear that there is still much work to be done. Finally, Berners-Lee presents his own plan for the Web's future, one that calls for the active support and participation of programmers, computer manufacturers, and social organizations to make it happen."--Jacket
