The challenges to nuclear power in the twenty-first century by Behram N Kursunoglu( Book )

13 editions published between 2000 and 2011 in English and held by 97 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This volume is the proceedings of the Global Foundations Inc.'s 22nd International Energy Forum, held November 5-6, 1999, and is highlighted by presentations by nuclear experts from around the world, including several officials of the US Department of Energy and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The papers address the need for nuclear energy in the new century; the issues of competition with other energy sources; the position of nuclear power in the context of critical global and environmental problems; the necessity of commercial nuclear power development to deal with nuclear arms proliferation; and the necessity to counter the prejudices and obstacles to the development of nuclear energy sources
The role of neutrinos, strings, gravity, and variable cosmological constant in elementary particle physics by Behram Kurşunoğlu( Book )

12 editions published between 2001 and 2002 in English and held by 90 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This volume, the proceedings of the Coral Gables Conference, contains developments in the theory of gravitation, and discusses, in particular, the fact that gravity, like electrodynamics, is both attractive and repulsive
Physics of mass by International Conference on Orbis Scientiae( Book )

20 editions published between 1998 and 2005 in English and held by 87 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Sponsored by the Global Foundation, Inc., these proceedings are derived from the International Conference on Orbis Scientiae II. Topics covered include: gravitational mass, neutrino mass, particle masses, cosmological masses, susy masses, and big bang creation of mass
Confluence of cosmology, massive neutrinos, elementary particles, and gravitation by Behram Kurşunoğlu( Book )

12 editions published between 1999 and 2002 in English and held by 74 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This conference was based on the discovery that neutrinos are massive objects, which gives elementary particle physics a new direction. This is the first in a series of conferences that will discuss the implications of this discovery and related issues, such as the impact on cosmology, proton spin content, strings, fractional spin and statistics, gravitation, and accelerated expansion of the universe
Proceedings of the 32nd Coral Gables Conference : the launching of la belle epoque of high energy physics & cosmology : a festschrift for Paul Frampton in his 60th year and memorial tributes to Behram Kursunoglu : Fort Lauderdale, Florida, 17-21 December 2003 by Conference on High Energy Physics and Cosmology( Book )

7 editions published in 2004 in English and held by 44 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Recent experimental results with direct bearing on theories of cosmological dark matter/energy, as well as continuing work on neutrino masses and mixing, have invigorated both particle physics and cosmology, and should continue to do so well into the 21st century, thereby launching a beautiful new epoch for these fields. The expert contributions from this conference took stock of these developments. This volume contains papers by over 40 physicists that summarize and interpret the newest findings, and suggest future avenues to be explored. A number of new theoretical ideas are also presented, dealing with progress in understanding the dynamics and symmetries of strings and branes, renormalization in quantum field theory, possible Lorentz violation effects, and related problems. Ongoing and next generation gravitational and neutrino experiments are described, and the issues of unification are dealt with in the context of, and beyond, the standard model. Together, the contributions provide a useful blend of experimental and theoretical physics from many prominent physicists, including three Nobel Laureates. The volume also contains information of an historical nature, concerning the contributions to physics by Paul Frampton, on the occasion of his 60th year, and summarizing the career of Behram Kursunoglu (1922-2003)
