Classical and contagious discrete distributions; proceedings by
Ganapati P Patil(
Book
)
1 edition published in 1965 in English and held by 180 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
The report provides a bibliography of classical and contagious discrete distributions which lists 2113 publications in statistics and probability discussing discrete distributions in general. Publications in other fields discussing applications of these distributions were also included. Textbooks as a class were excluded, but the more intimate ones were included. Technical reports and dissertations were treated as published papers. A systematic search was made for most of the entries published in English during the period ending 1964. Some of the later publications discovered and found relevant are also included. The original objective of achieving comprehensive coverage of nonEnglish publications was partially abandoned due to lack of adequate resources

Banach space theory : the basis for linear and nonlinear analysis by
Marián J Fabian(
Book
)
2 editions published in 2011 in English and held by 4 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
"Banach spaces provide a framework for linear and nonlinear functional analysis, operator theory, abstract analysis, probability, optimization and other branches of mathematics. This book introduces the reader to linear functional analysis and to related parts of infinitedimensional Banach space theory. Key Features: Develops classical theory, including weak topologies, locally convex space, Schauder bases and compact operator theory Covers RadonNikodým property, finitedimensional spaces and local theory on tensor products Contains sections on uniform homeomorphisms and nonlinear theory, Rosenthal's L₁ theorem, fixed points, and more Includes information about further topics and directions of research and some open problems at the end of each chapter Provides numerous exercises for practice. The text is suitable for graduate courses or for independent study. Prerequisites include basic courses in calculus and linear. Researchers in functional analysis will also benefit from this book for reference purposes."Publisher's description
