(Lexikon des internationalen Films 2000/2001 (CD-ROM) Außerdem entstanden noch eine stumme und zwei synchronisierte Fassungen für den englischsprachigen Markt (THE WHITE HELL OF PIZ PALÜ/PRISONERS OF THE MOUNTAIN). In Frankreich kam Piz Palü, laut Lotte Eisner, in einer von Leni Riefenstahl geschnittenen Version in die Kinos; in Deutschland erstellte man 1935 noch eine gekürzte, synchronisierte Version (2509m), aus welcher die Aufnahmen des geflohenen Kurt Gerron entfernt worden waren
