Arthur Schnitzler, geboren am 15.5.1862 in Wien; gestorben am 21.10.1931 in Wien. Arthur besuchte von 1871 bis 1879 das Akademische Gymnasium und studierte ebenfalls Medizin (Promotion 1885). Schnitzler wird häufig als literarisches Pendant Sigmund Freuds bezeichnet. In seinen Dramen und Novellen, die oft die revolutionäre Erzähltechnik des 'Inneren Monologs' verwenden, bringt Schnitzler das Unterbewusstsein seiner Figuren unmittelbar und drastisch zum Vorschein. Nach der Trennung von seiner Frau Olga 1921 erzog Schnitzler Sohn Heinrich und Tochter Lili alleine. Lilis Selbstmord im Jahr 1928 erschütterte ihn tief. Er starb drei Jahre später an den Folgen eines Gehirnschlags
