Didaktika je poprvé podána v úplném znění, v němž jsou zahrnuty odchylné části českého originálu a pozdějšího latinského vydání. - V úvodní části hodnotí O. Pavlík význam Komenského a ukazuje, že i když "navenek náboženskými představami, konvenčními názory na společnost zůstává Komenský ve středověku, ve vnitřním obsahu, v pedagogickém díle ukazuje ... revolučně cestu vpřed, pryč od theologie a feudalismu, přes kapitalismus až k socialismu".

Usiloval však i o nápravu celého společenského života, a to vzděláním a výchovou. Zabýval se studiemi pansofickými a připravoval sedmidílný soubor De rerum humanarum emendatione consultatio catholica. Jeho nerozlučný doprovod tvoří spis Lexicon reale pansophicum. Konečnou formu však dílu nedal. Pouze malá část z něho byla publikována, ostatek zůstal v rukopise. Poprvé vychází soubor jako celek teprve nyní a účelem tohoto vydání je seznámit čtenáře v souhrnu s druhou, dosud neznámou částí literárního odkazu velkého českého myslitele.
