Journal 3 covers more of his childhood as well as his time on the San Francisco Art Commission in the 1940's. Journal 4 covers his thoughts on F.D.R., Harry Truman, Douglas MacArthur, Henry Wallace, Eisenhower, Kennedy, the A-bomb and the Korean War
