Sahá od r. 1316 k roku 1346. Karel IV. je autorem 14 prvních anejlepších kapitol , dospívá k r. 1340. V 15.-20. kapitole Karlem pověřený pokračovatel zaznamenává léta další. Byl tak vytvořen výtečný doklad Karlova duševního života i dobré svědectví Karlových činů. Obsáhlá a důkladnápřekladatelova studie i komentář uvádějí do dějinných souvislostí. Na konci je přiložen itinerář Karla IV. (tj. přehled o jeho cestách a pobytu) do r. 1346.
