Frank Zappa's 200 motels by Frank Zappa( Visual )

4 editions published between 1971 and 2013 in English and held by 81 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

A psychedelic precursor to music videos, in which Zappa's Mothers of Invention wreak havoc in Centerville, an obnoxiously stereotypical American town. The first color movie made on videotape and then transferred to film, 200 Motels attempts to present the sometimes inspired life of a rock 'n roll band in search of money, groupies and cheeseburgers. When the film is inspired, one gets a glimpse of the convoluted terrain of Zappa's mind; when it is not, moments can drag, but one must admit that only Frank Zappa could make such a film, let alone release it. A bemused Ringo Starr does not so much steal the film as temporarily rescuscitate it
