Effects of inlet geometry on hydraulic performance of box culverts : laboratory report by J. S Jones( Book )

2 editions published between 2004 and 2006 in English and held by 2 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"Each year the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SD DOT) designs and builds many cast-in-place (CIP) and precast box culvert structures that allow drainage to pass under roadways. The CIP boxes typically have 30-degree flared wing walled and the precast have straight wing walls with 4-in bevel on the inside edges of the wing walls and top slab. Previous research, SD93-12, conducted on a limited number of single barrel box culverts, indicated that further research was necessary to determine the effects of multiple barrel structures, loss coefficients of unsubmerged outlets, and to determine the effect of 12-in corner fillets versus 6-in corner fillets. In order to optimize the design of both types of box culverts, it was also necessary to determine the effects of span-to-rise ratio, skewed end condition, and optimum edge condition on typical box culvert installations"--Technical report documentation page
Laboratory scour investigation : McKinley/Knapp Street Bridge over the Milwaukee River by Kornel Kerenyi( Book )

1 edition published in 2002 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

"A physical model study was conducted at the FHWA TFHRC Hydraulic Laboratory to investigate potential danger to an existing 96" sanitary sewer due to scour if a proposed new bridge is constructed over the sanitary sewer line. The proposed bridge, which crosses the Milwaukee River as part of the Park East Freeway Reconfiguration project, will connect McKinley Avenue on the west side of the river to Knapp Street on the east side"--Technical report documentation page
Scour study for the Woodrow Wilson replacement bridge : laboratory report by Kornel Kerenyi( Book )

1 edition published in 2004 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

"In order to design a safe and cost-effective foundation for the new Woodrow Wilson Bridge, accurate scour estimates must be calculated. The preliminary foundation design for the new bridge consists of drilled pile clusters and guidelines for estimating scour for this arrangement are complicated. Therefore, Maryland State Highway Administration (MSHA), in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), decided to conduct scale model studies of the proposed bridge design ... The results of these tests will aid the foundation design engineers to better understand and estimate scour at the new bridge"--Page 1
