On dreams by Sigmund Freud( Book )

10 editions published between 1914 and 2010 in English and held by 215 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

He was a pioneer in the study of the human unconscious and the impact of sexual desire on human behavior, and his 1900 work 'The Interpretation of Dreams' is arguably one of the greatest treatises on psychology ever written. But Freud recognized that is was not an easy tome to digest, and prepared this shorter, more accessible version.--{book cover]
War-shock; the psycho-neuroses in war psychology and treatment by M. D Eder( Book )

18 editions published between 1917 and 2014 in English and held by 133 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"As the material for this book I have taken the first hundred consecutive cases of psycho-neurosis which came under my care; the psychoses have been excluded. A certain number of these hundred patients were admitted into the general surgical and medical wards of which I had charge in the earlier stages of the Gallipoli campaign; the larger number were patients who were sent into the special department which was formed later on and entrusted to me. By limiting the detailed observations to a small number of patients, who, however, present collectively the chief varieties in the symptoms and psycho-pathology of warshock, a better basis is secured for the understanding of this condition than could be obtained by a more general account of larger numbers"--Preface. Studies in word-association; experiments in the diagnosis of psychopathological conditions carried out at the psychiatric clinic of the University of Zurich under the direction of C.G. Jung by C. G Jung( Book )

11 editions published between 1918 and 2011 in English and held by 14 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"This book is a translation of a series of papers on the results of the association method applied to normal and abnormal persons, which appeared in the Journal für Psychologie und Neurologie (vols, iii-xvi) and were afterwards collected into two volumes. The experiments were carried out at the instance and under the guidance of Dr. C.G. Jung. The work which Drs. Jung and F. Riklin published in 1904 gave an entirely new direction to association experiments. The new departure which we owe to Dr. Jung is the application of the association method to unconscious mental processes; the theory of unconscious complexes was developed by these experiments; the results obtained by Freud's psycho-analytic technique were confirmed by the use of a very different method. This confirmation by experimental methods compelled many who had hitherto looked askance at the psycho-analytic theory of the unconscious to investigate the phenomena for themselves. These studies in word-association have now acquired a permanent place in the historical development of this theory"--Preface. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2010 APA, all rights reserved)
