The online archive contains items from the Swarthmore College Peace Collection (SCPC) that relate to women's peace organizing since the turn of the twentieth century with particular emphasis on the interwar and postwar periods. The activism of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) is captured through the collections of Emily Greene Balch, Dorothy Detzer, Dorothy Hutchinson, and the Peoples Mandate Committee. Ellen Starr Brinton's papers describe her role as an archivist for the SCPC in obtaining materials from Europe before and after World War II. Overall, materials from the SCPC contribute to historians' understanding of women's peace activism during the twentieth century
