Phoebe Apperson Hearst was the wife of George Hearst, miner, prospector, and businessman, owner of the San Francisco Examiner newspaper, and United States Senator. After his death, she engaged in philanthropic work and contributed to the University of California. Hearst contributed to National Congress of Mothers, which evolved eventually into the National Parent-Teacher Association. She helped build the Young Women's Christian Association of Asliomar in Pacifc Grove, California. In 1900, Mrs. Heast co-founded the National Cathedral School in Washington, D.C. She was the mother of William Randolph Hearst

The majority of the texts, in Greek, derive from the archive of the komogrammateus (scribe) of the neighboring village of Kerkeosiris, north of Tebtunis, and date to the very end of the 2nd century B.C. Central within this body of documents is the archive of Menches, who performed the duties of komogrammateus of Kerkeosiris between approximately 120 and 110 B.C. Other village officials are also represented. Also included is an extensive land survey. A separate group of mostly private documents from the 1st century B.C. come from five crocodile mummies in two adjacent tombs. A few Demotic and bilinqual papyri are also found. During this time Egypt was controlled by the Greek Ptolemaic dynasty
