Discs 2 and 6 contain unidentified orchestra pieces. Disc 3 contains a oscillator tone sweep. Disc 4 contains an unidentified piece for solo voice and organ. Disc 5 contains an unidentified monologue with orchestral background.

Announcer states that the movements of the Death Valley Suite are Funeral Mountains, Forty-niner emigrant train, Desert water hole, and Sand Storm. Grofe composed the music based on narrative poems written by Dr. C.B.S. Evans. Before each movement, the announcer reads the poem used as the subject of the movement. This pre-recorded performance is broadcast for the first time at Death Valley on the occasion of the Death Valley Centennial celebration by the Hollywood Bowl Symphony Orchestra conducted by Ferde Grofé (broadcast time was later on the same day as the recording). The second part of Frank Allan Hubbell's California Eldorado suite is also heard on this CBS radio broadcast.
