Carl Christian Anton Christensen, son of Mads Christensen and Dorothea Christiane Christensen, was born 28 November 1831 in Copenhagen, Denmark. He joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1850, and emigrated in 1857 with his Norwegian fiancé Elise Rosalia Sternheim Scheel Haarby. They were married in Liverpool, England, and settled Fairfield, Cedar Valley, Utah, moving later to Mount Pleasant, Sanpete County and then to Ephraim, Utah. They had seven children. He married Maren Fredrikka Pettersen in 1869. They had seven children. He died in 1912. He was a well-known artist
