Sheaves on manifolds by
Masaki Kashiwara(
Book
)
28 editions published between 1990 and 2010 in 4 languages and held by 463 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
From the reviews: This book is devoted to the study of sheaves by microlocal methods..(it) may serve as a reference source as well as a textbook on this new subject. Houzel's historical overview of the development of sheaf theory will identify important landmarks for students and will be a pleasure to read for specialists. Math. Reviews 92a (1992). The book is clearly and precisely written, and contains many interesting ideas: it describes a whole, largely new branch of mathematics.(...)The book can be strongly recommended to a younger mathematician enthusiastic to assimilate a new range of techniques allowing flexible application to a wide variety of problems. Bull. L.M.S. (1992)

Microdifferential systems in the complex domain by
Pierre Schapira(
Book
)
21 editions published between 1984 and 2012 in English and German and held by 413 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
The words "microdifferential systems in the complex domain" refer to seve ral branches of mathematics: micro local analysis, linear partial differential equations, algebra, and complex analysis. The microlocal point of view first appeared in the study of propagation of singularities of differential equations, and is spreading now to other fields of mathematics such as algebraic geometry or algebraic topology. How ever it seems that many analysts neglect very elementary tools of algebra, which forces them to confine themselves to the study of a single equation or particular square matrices, or to carryon heavy and nonintrinsic formula tions when studying more general systems. On the other hand, many alge braists ignore everything about partial differential equations, such as for example the "Cauchy problem", although it is a very natural and geometri cal setting of "inverse image". Our aim will be to present to the analyst the algebraic methods which naturally appear in such problems, and to make available to the algebraist some topics from the theory of partial differential equations stressing its geometrical aspects. Keeping this goal in mind, one can only remain at an elementary level

Categories and sheaves by
Masaki Kashiwara(
Book
)
24 editions published between 2005 and 2011 in English and held by 348 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Categories and sheaves, which emerged in the middle of the last century as an enrichment for the concepts of sets and functions, appear almost everywhere in mathematics nowadays. This book covers categories, homological algebra and sheaves in a systematic and exhaustive manner starting from scratch, and continues with full proofs to an exposition of the most recent results in the literature, and sometimes beyond. The authors present the general theory of categories and functors, emphasising inductive and projective limits, tensor categories, representable functors, indobjects and localization. Then they study homological algebra including additive, abelian, triangulated categories and also unbounded derived categories using transfinite induction and accessible objects. Finally, sheaf theory as well as twisted sheaves and stacks appear in the framework of Grothendieck topologies

Regular and irregular holonomic Dmodules by
Masaki Kashiwara(
Book
)
8 editions published in 2016 in English and held by 117 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Dmodule theory is essentially the algebraic study of systems of linear partial differential equations. This book, the first devoted specifically to holonomic Dmodules, provides a unified treatment of both regular and irregular Dmodules. The authors begin by recalling the main results of the theory of indsheaves and subanalytic sheaves, explaining in detail the operations on Dmodules and their tempered holomorphic solutions. As an application, they obtain the RiemannHilbert correspondence for regular holonomic Dmodules. In the second part of the book the authors do the same for the sheaf of enhanced tempered solutions of (not necessarily regular) holonomic Dmodules. Originating from a series of lectures given at the Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques in Paris, this book is addressed to graduate students and researchers familiar with the language of sheaves and Dmodules, in the derived sense

POUR RESOUDRE LE PROBLEME DE RIEMANNHILBERT, M. KASHIWARA INTRODUIT LE FONCTEUR DE COHOMOLOGIE TEMPEREE QUI ECHANGE LES FAISCEAUX PERVERS ET LES DMODULES HOLONOMES. EN 1995, M. KASHIWARA ET P. SCHAPIRA INTRODUISENT LE FONCTEUR DE COHOMOLOGIE FORMELLE, DUAL EN UN CERTAIN SENS DU PRECEDENT. DANS LA PREMIERE PARTIE DE LA THESE, NOUS MONTRONS UN THEOREME D'ANNULATION : SUR UNE VARIETE COMPLEXE DE STEIN, LES SECTIONS GLOBALES A SUPPORT COMPACT DU FONCTEUR DE COHOMOLOGIE FORMELLE ASSOCIE A UN FAISCEAU PERVERS SONT CONCENTREES EN DEGRE. LA PREUVE UTILISE DES RESULTATS DE SIU ET HORMANDER, ET LA DUALITE DANS LES CATEGORIES DERIVEES DES ESPACES VECTORIELS TOPOLOGIQUES. NOUS MONTRONS D'ABORD LA PLATITUDE DU FAISCEAU DES FONCTIONS HOLOMORPHES TEMPEREES SUR UN OUVERT DE STEIN SOUSANALYTIQUE RELATIVEMENT COMPACT DE X. PUIS NOUS MONTRONS UNE VERSION TEMPEREE DU THEOREME B DE CARTAN. DANS LA DEUXIEME PARTIE, NOUS MONTRONS LA STABILITE SOUS LA TRANSFORMATION DE LAPLACE DU FAISCEAU CONIQUE DES FONCTIONS HOLOMORPHES TEMPEREES (A L'ORIGINE ET A L'INFINI) SUR UN ESPACE VECTORIEL COMPLEXE. NOUS UTILISONS LE RESULTAT CONNU : LA TRANSFORMATION DE LAPLACE ECHANGE L'ESPACE DES DISTRIBUTIONS TEMPEREES DE SUPPORT CONTENU DANS UN CONE CONVEXE FERME D'UN ESPACE VECTORIEL REEL ET L'ESPACE DES FONCTIONS HOLOMORPHES TEMPEREES SUR LE TUBE DUAL. NOUS RETROUVONS ALORS LE THEOREME DE BRYLINSKIMALGRANGEVERDIER QUI ETABLIT LA CORRESPONDANCE ENTRE LE TRANSFORMEE DE FOURIER GEOMETRIQUE DES SOLUTIONS D'UN DMODULE DE TYPE FINI MONODROMIQUE ET LES SOLUTIONS DE SON TRANSFORME DE FOURIER FORMEL
