During the search for her, Francis goes to an insane asylum hoping to find Cesare and discovers that the director of the asylum is none other than the insane Dr. Caligari. It is then revealed that Francis himself is a patient in a mental institution.

Uncle Bill leaves the children, goes to the bedroom and sees the chimpanzee praying. The next day after Bill and the ten children finish dinner, one child gets a stomach ache. Bill calls the doctor who comes to attend the sick child. The doctor sees another child trying to hide. The doctor discovers that the child comes from a home that's under quarantine for scarlet fever. The doctor calls the Board of Health and Bill and the children are placed under quarantine.

On an impulse, she enters her horse, Bingo, in a local horse race and wins, beating Deacon Strong's horse. This angers the Deacon so much that he drives Polly out of town. She rejoins the circus, but pines away for Rev. Douglas who also misses her. When the circus returns the next year, Polly and Rev. Douglas are reunited when he rescues her from a terrible fire. more
