Graph drawing : Symposium on Graph Drawing, GD '95, Passau, Germany, September 20-22, 1995 : proceedings by F. J Brandenburg( Book )

20 editions published between 1995 and 1997 in 3 languages and held by 285 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

"This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the international Symposium on Graph Drawing, GD '95, held in Passau, Germany, in September 1995. The 40 full papers and 12 system demonstrations were selected from a total of 88 submissions and include, in their revised versions presented here, the improvements suggested during the meeting. This book also contains a report on the graph-drawing contest held in conjunction with GD '95. Graph drawing is concerned with the problem of visualizing structural information, particularly by constructing geometric representations of abstract graphs and networks. The importance of this area for industrial applications is testified by the large number of people with industrial affiliations, submitting papers and participating in the meeting."--PUBLISHER'S WEBSITE

Designing data flow graphs by graph grammars by F. J Brandenburg( Book )

3 editions published in 1995 in English and held by 18 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Abstract: "We introduce a new approach to construct data flow graphs of imperative programs. It is based on graphically specified templates rather than on writing code. To each syntactical unit of the program, our technique assigns a fixed set of graph grammar productions. Given a program, the data flow graph is created by the application of productions according to the syntactical structure of the program. We have implemented our approach with the GraphEd system. This allows designing of the graph grammar on screen and generating a visual representation of the data flow graph automatically from a given program."

Radial level planarity testing and embedding in linear time by Christian Bachmaier( Book )

3 editions published in 2003 in English and held by 16 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Abstract: "Every planar graph has a concentric representation based on a breadth first search, see [24]. The vertices are placed on concentric circles and the edges are routed as curves without crossings. Here we take the opposite view. A graph with a given partitioning of its vertices onto k concentric circles is k-radial planar, if the edges can be routed monotonic between the circles without crossings. Radial planarity is a generalisation of level planarity, where the vertices are placed on k horizontal lines. We extend the technique for level planarity tesing of [13, 14, 16-18, 20] and show that radial planarity is decidable in linear time, and that a radial planar embedding can be computed in linear time."

Algorithmen zum automatischen Zeichnen von Graphen by F. J Brandenburg( Book )

3 editions published in 1997 in German and held by 5 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Abstract: "Graph drawing is a new and growing area in Computer Science. It is concerned with the design, analysis, implementation and evaluation of new algorithms for aesthetically nice drawings of graphs. Through the use of some selected examples of applications, typical problems, and solutions, we would like to provide an introduction into this still relatively unknown field. And we survey activities and goals of a working group consisting of members of the universities of Halle, Köln and Passau and the Max-Planck-Institut für Informatik in Saarbrücken, that is funded by the German Science Foundation DFG under the program 'Efficient Algorithms for Discrete Problems and their Applications'."
