"Quantum Theory of Optical Coherence is a compilation of Roy J. Glauber's most renowned and groundbreaking articles and lectures, among them his famous lectures held at the Les Houches summer school in 1964 on 'Optical Coherence and Photon Statistics', which has been a milestone for future generations of students and researchers in this field. The book is intended not only as a reference for experts, but also addresses graduate students and beginning researchers who wish to gain an insight into the basic theories of the field."--BOOK JACKET

Collision cross-sections of the deuteron at high energies by Roy J Glauber ( Book )
1 edition published in 1961 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide
A number of effects which lead to a difference between the high energy cross-sections of the deuteron and the sum of the corresponding cross-sections of a free neutron and proton. Particular attention is paid to the role of double scattering, which is chiefly responsible for explaining the cross-section difference at energies below the meson production threshold. A simple analysis is given of the error made by the impulse approximation in neglecting the effects of double scattering
Quantum mechanical behavior of trapped ions a talk given at Macquarie University, Friday, 11 September 1992 by Roy J Glauber ( Visual )
1 edition published in 1992 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide
Charged ions can be stably trapped in electromagnetic fields that vary appropriately in space and time. Cooling these particles can then bring them down to states of minimal motion that will have various uses in spectroscopy. It is not difficult to solve the quantum mechanical problems posed by such motion in a quadrupole field of arbitrary time variation. The result is a fully quantum mechanical theory of trapping and of the radiation processes that involve the trapped particles
