Nine letters from Francis Lewis, dated Philadelphia, Pa., between November and December 1775, to John Alsop, being a description of supplying clothing to Northern Continental Army companies at Cambridge and Albany, New York. Letter, signed Peter V.B. Livingston, President, Provincial Congress, dated New York, June 28th, to John Alsop, is a request for the procurement of 2,852 blankets to supply military troops. Two letters from Peter Keteltas, dated Philadelphia, July 12th, and New York, July 26th, 1775, to John Alsop, discuss the acquisition of such items as duck for tents and drum-heads for New York battalions, and British troop movements. Twelve letters from Christopher Smith, dated New York and Jamaica, N.Y., between May and October, 1775 are a discussion of matters relating to the shipping business, rumors of British troop embankments, the Continental Association and the importation of tea, and removal from New York to safety
