Autograph album of Abigail "Abby" Smith Adams (later Angier), the daughter of Thomas Boylston Adams and Ann (Harrod) Adams and granddaughter of President John Adams, containing messages, quotations, and poems addressed to her from relatives and friends. Adams family members include John Adams, Thomas Boylston Adams, Ann (Harrod) Adams, John Quincy Adams (who wrote an original poem), Louisa C. (Johnson) Adams, Elizabeth Coombs Adams, Thomas Boylston Adams, Jr., and George W. Adams. Other entries were written by members of the Harrod, Quincy, and Thaxter families, including Charles Harrod; Lucy (Cranch) Greenleaf; Charles Sprague; Caroline Amelia (Smith) De Windt; and Rufus Dawes. Many are signed with initials only, and the bulk were written in Haverhill, Quincy, Hingham, Boston, and Washington, D.C. The volume also contains an engraving of John Adams pasted inside the front cover and two sketches
