Four letters. Letter to W.W. Whittlesey (1871) concerns a counterfeiting case; letter to a Mrs. Croly (1881) in reply to an invitation to a reception for Martha J. Lamb. In two letters to an unnamed judge (1882), Waite discusses a planned trip with William Tecumsah Sherman. He also mentions a recent Supreme Court decision (probably Bridge Co. v. United States, 105 U.S. 470) and the opinions of justices Stephen Field and Samuel Miller. Included in folder is printed card from Waite's family, acknowledging condolences on his death (1888)
