3 editions published between 1989 and 2005 in English and held by 271 libraries worldwide Rare sketches you'll never see in "I Love Lucy" reruns! Lucille Ball's extraordinary talent carried her beyond her highly popular series "I Love Lucy", "The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour", "The Lucy Show", and "Here's Lucy". With husband Desi Arnaz (who played Ricky Ricardo) and cast members Vivian Vance (Ethel Mertz) and William Frawley (Fred Mertz) she was a frequent guest of other celebrities on their shows during the Golden Age of TV. You'll see them on a 1954 live broadcast, "Toast of the Town", in which host Ed Sullivan gets manhandled when he pays a visit to their home. In this hiliarious sketch, the three of them crack up when Ed actually laughs. In 1955, Lucy and Desi stumped the "What's My Line?" panelists with their disguised voices and back and forth answers. In 1959, a promotional film - never aired on TV - was produced for westinghouse, the new sponsor of the "Desilu Playhouse". This unique look at the Desilu Studio contains a wealth of early TV history as well as lots of laughs.

2 editions published in 2007 in English and held by 257 libraries worldwide Following its wildly successful six-season run, "I love Lucy" expanded to a one-hour format as "The Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz show" (later released as "The Lucy-Desi comedy hour"). These hilarious specials debuted with the 75-minute-long "Lucy takes a cruise to Havana" in which Lucy McGillicuddy--vacationing with her best friend Susie MacNamara--meets Ricky Ricardo for the first time. In a subsequent show, Lucy attempts to get chummy with new neighbor Tallulah Bankhead, with predictably wacky results. Then, when Little Ricky's dream of having a horse seems to be just that--a dream--Lucy finds a way to win one for him. From shenanigans in a men-only Geisha house in Tokyo to clowning with famed performer Red Skelton in Alaska and bullfighting in Mexico, Lucy and Desi's star-studded TV episodes continue the love, laughs and classically funny situations that make "I love Lucy" one of television's greatest comedy series.
