1 edition published in 1986 in English and held by 1 WorldCat member library worldwide

Possible future exploitation of Antarctic marine and mineral resources is threatening the ecological balance of the continent. To date the Church has remained virtually silent in addressing this ecological challenge and political problem. This paper draws attention to the possible threats to the natural environment of Antarctica and identifies and formulates biblical, ethical and theological bases upon which the Church can advocate its concern for the "Last of Lands". The church is encouraged to act as an advocate for the preservation of the continent. The idea of declaring Antarctica as a Global Preserve is championed and practical ideas for action by church instrumentalities and members at local, national and international levels are suggested
