Diaries kept by John Leach, a schoolmaster and civil engineer, 3 July 1757 - 19 Nov. 1758 and 29 June 1775 - 7 Jan. 1776. The 1757-58 diary is primarily an account of Leach's spiritual life, and includes prayers and Biblical passages. This diary also includes notes on the events of the French and Indian War, including the movement of British troops stationed in Halifax and the Siege of Louisbourg, 26 July 1758
