Augmented Lagrangian and operator-splitting methods in nonlinear mechanics by R Glowinski( Book )

13 editions published in 1989 in English and Undetermined and held by 209 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

A need for a deeper understanding of the convergence properties of augmented Lagrangian algorithms and of their relationship to operator-splitting methods such as alternating-methods direction and the development of more efficient algorithms prompted the authors to write this book. The volume is oriented to applications in continuum mechanics. This volume deals with the numerical simulation of the behavior of continuous media by augmented Lagrangian and operator-splitting methods (coupled to finite-element approximations). It begins with a description of the mechanical and mathematical frameworks of the considered applications as well as a general analysis of the basic numerical methods additionally used to study them. These ideas are then applied to specific classes of mechanical problems

Convergence analysis of domain decomposition algorithms with full overlapping for the advection-diffusion problems by Patrick Le Tallec( Book )

7 editions published between 1994 and 1996 in English and held by 90 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

The aim of this paper is to study the convergence properties of a Time Marching Algorithm solving Advection-Diffusion problems on two domains using incompatible discretizations. The basic algorithm is first presented, and theoretical or numerical results illustrate its convergence properties

8 editions published between 1998 and 2000 in French and Spanish and held by 90 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

Maximum principles and application to the analysis of an explicit time marching algorithm by Patrick Le Tallec( Book )

5 editions published in 1996 in English and held by 86 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

In this paper we develop local and global estimates for the solution of convection-diffusion problems. We then study the convergence properties of a Time Marching Algorithm solving Advection-Diffusion problems on two domains using incompatible discretizations. This study is based on a De-Giorgi-Nash maximum principle

Domain decomposition methods for large linearly elliptic three dimensional problems by Patrick Le Tallec( Book )

3 editions published in 1990 in English and held by 7 WorldCat member libraries worldwide

This algorithm involves the solution of Dirichlet and of Neumann problems, defined on each subdomain and which can be solved in parallel. This method has been implemented on a CRAY 2 computer using multitasking and on an INTEL hypercube. It was tested on a large scale, industrial, ill-conditioned, three dimensional linear elasticity problem, which gives a fair indication of its performance in a real life environment. In such situations, the proposed method appears operational and competitive on both machines: compared to standard techniques, it yields faster results with far less memory requirements."
Une methode numerique pour les problemes d'equilibre de corps hyperelastiques compressibles en grandes deformations by Patrick Le Tallec( Book )

2 editions published between 1981 and 1983 in French and held by 6 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
