S Kumar(
Book
)
17 editions published between 1996 and 1997 in English and held by 324 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
The book gives a survey of some recent developments in the theory of bundles on curves arising out of the work of Drinfeld and from insights coming from Theoretical Physics. It deals with: 1. The relation between conformal blocks and generalised theta functions (Lectures by S. Kumar) 2. Drinfeld Shtukas (Lectures by G. Laumon) 3. Drinfeld modules and Elliptic Sheaves (Lectures by U. Stuhler) The latter topics are useful in connection with Langlands programme for function fields. The contents of the book would give a comprehensive introduction of these topics to graduate students and researchers

The Grothendieck Festschrift : a collection of articles written in honor of the 60th birthday of Alexander Grothendieck by
P Cartier(
Book
)
28 editions published between 1990 and 2007 in English and French and held by 68 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
The many diverse articles presented in these three volumes, collected on the occasion of Alexander Grothendieck's sixtieth birthday and originally published in 1990, were offered as a tribute to one of the world's greatest living mathematicians. Grothendieck changed the very way we think about many branches of mathematics. Many of his ideas, revolutionary when introduced, now seem so natural as to have been inevitable. Indeed, it is difficult to fully grasp the influence his vast contributions to modern mathematics have subsequently had on new generations of mathematicians. Many of the groundbreaking contributions in these volumes contain material that is now considered foundational to the subject. Topics addressed by these topnotch contributors match the breadth of Grothendieck's own interests, including: functional analysis, algebraic geometry, algebraic topology, number theory, representation theory, Ktheory, category theory, and homological algebra. CONTRIBUTORS to Volume I: A. Altman; M. Artin; V. Balaji; A. Beauville; A.A. Beilinson; P. Berthelot; J.M. Bismut; S. Bloch; L. Breen; J.L. Brylinski; J. Dieudonné; H. Gillet; A.B. Goncharov; K. Kato; S. Kleiman; W. Messing; V.V. Schechtman; C.S. Seshadri; C. Soulé; J. Tate; M. van den Bergh; and A.N. Varchenko

Cohomology of Drinfeld modular varieties by
Gérard Laumon(
Book
)
27 editions published between 1995 and 2009 in English and held by 59 WorldCat member libraries worldwide
Cohomology of Drinfeld Modular Varieties aims to provide an introduction to this subject and to the Langlands correspondence for function fields. These varieties are the analogues for function fields of the Shimura varieties over number fields. The Langlands correspondence is a conjectured link between automorphic forms and Galois representations over a global field. By analogy with the numbertheoretic case, one expects to establish the conjecture for function fields by studying the cohomology of Drinfeld modular varieties, which has been done by Drinfeld himself for the rank two case. This second volume is concerned with the ArthurSHSelberg trace formula, and to the proof in some cases of the RamanujanPetersson conjecture and the global Langlands conjecture for function fields. The author uses techniques that are extensions of those used to study Shimura varieties. Though the author considers only the simpler case of function rather than number fields, many important features of the number field case can be illustrated. Several appendices on background material keep the work reasonably selfcontained. This book will be of much interest to all researchers in algebraic number theory and representation theory

JACQUET ET YE ONT CONJECTURE UNE FAMILLE D'IDENTITES ENTRE INTEGRALES DE TYPE DE KLOOSTERMAN POUR LE GROUPE GL(N) SUR UN CORPS LOCAL NON ARCHIMEDIEN. DANS LE CONTEXTE DE LA FORMULE DES TRACES RELATIVES DE JACQUET, CES IDENTITES JOUENT LE ROLE D'UN <<<>LEMME FONDAMENTAL<>>>. NOUS DEMONTRONS CETTE CONJECTURE DANS LE CAS OU LE CORPS LOCAL EST DE CARACTERISTIQUE POSITIVE. LE POINT CLE DE CETTE PREUVE CONSISTE A CONSTRUIRE UNE DEFORMATION D'UNE SOMME DE KLOOSTERMAN POUR GL(N) EN DES PRODUITS DE SOMMES DE KLOOSTERMAN CLASSIQUES. L'IDENTITE A DEMONTRER APPARAIT ALORS COMME UNE LIMITE DES IDENTITES CONNUES ENTRE SOMMES DE KLOOSTERMAN CLASSIQUES. CE PASSAGE A LA LIMITE SE FORMULE DE MANIERE ADEQUATE A L'AIDE DE L'INTERPRETATION COHOMOLOGIQUE DES SOMMES EXPONENTIELLES ET DE LA THEORIE DES FAISCEAUX PERVERS <SCRIPT SMALL 1>ADIQUES.
