One of the richest areas of art history in Mexico are the 16th century convents and monasteries. This study about Yuririapúndaro is a project around that theme and also considers the couses of Tlaxcala and Yanhuitlán. These are especially noteworthy because they were evagelical site for three different orders of priests that worked during the century of the Conquest: the Franciscans, Dominicans and Agustines. It is also interesting because these areas are located in three different parts of Mexico: central, southern and western. The roots of architecture and decoration in Mexico after the Conquest required adoptions to what the Spaniards had produced in Europe. Yuriria is a singualr work and the fame of this monument is great, starting from the time that it was constructed
