It differs from the printed text in Louis E. de Forest, Louisbourg journals, 1745 (New York : Society of Colonial Wars in the State of New York, 1932), 108-120. Sewn into the volume are two letters dated August 4 and November 6, 1755, plus a draft of the November 6, 1755 letter describing events in the French and Indian War and commenting on the conduct of several of the officers. The letters may have been written by Josiah Willard. Also sewn in is a letter of Seth Pomeroy, dated September 9, 1755, to his wife describing the Battle of Lake George
